This photograph portrays a female Patagonian fox, locally known as a zorro, resting calmly by the roadside near the entrance of Torres del Paine National Park, in Chilean Patagonia.

Her quiet presence suggests a moment of vulnerability and survival. She was probably nursing her cubs and had learned to stay close to the road in search of easy food from passing visitors. Although this behavior may create a rare opportunity for observation and photography, feeding wild animals inside a national park is strictly prohibited and harmful to their natural instincts.
