etamorphosis in Stones
Among the rocks at the edge of a lagoon, where seawater meets the freshwater flowing from a river, the female figure seems to enter a state of transformation. Around her, sediments, textures, and small microenvironments form on the surface of the stones, suggesting the quiet beginning of new life.
Part of the Elemental series, Metamorphosis in Stones explores the symbolic fusion between the human body and nature. The subject appears to absorb the energy of the landscape, becoming part of its organic cycle — like the metamorphosis of a butterfly, passing from one state of existence into another, renewed and transformed.
This image speaks of adaptation, rebirth, and the invisible forces that connect all living forms. The body does not dominate the environment; it dissolves into it, becoming stone, water, texture, and memory.
Photographed in 2002 with a Hasselblad camera on color transparency film, the original image was digitized as a high-quality TIFF file, ideal for large-format fine art prints on 315 gsm or heavier museum-quality paper.
