Valle de la Luna — Shadows of the Desert
Photographed in 2010 during two journeys through the Atacama Desert, Chile, this series presents the dramatic landscape of Valle de la Luna, one of the most iconic and visually powerful places in the region.
At sunset, the valley reveals its most intense and mysterious character. The low angle of the sun projects long shadows across the rugged terrain, emphasizing the deep cavities, eroded formations, mineral surfaces, and natural movements sculpted by wind, dryness, and time. The landscape appears almost lunar — silent, ancient, and constantly transformed by light.
From this extraordinary viewpoint, the presence of the Licancabur Volcano on the horizon adds a monumental and sacred dimension to the scene. Its silhouette stands against the changing colors of the sky, while the desert below becomes a composition of textures, shadows, and forms.
Part of the Atacama 2010 — Desert of Light and Silence collection, these photographs celebrate the encounter between light, stone, altitude, silence, and geological memory. More than a landscape, Valle de la Luna becomes a visual experience of abstraction and immensity, where the desert is shaped by the last light of the day.
Printed on museum-quality fine art paper, each work is created for collectors, interiors, hotels, corporate spaces, and architectural projects seeking images of atmosphere, elegance, nature, and timeless beauty. Each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
