Arrayanes Forest — Llao Llao, Bariloche, 2009

During a walk along a forest trail in the Municipal Park of Llao Llao, in Bariloche, I photographed the remarkable Arrayán trees — one of the most distinctive and poetic elements of the Patagonian landscape.

Their presence creates an almost enchanted atmosphere. The ochre-yellow tones of the trunks, the exposed roots, and the organic shapes of the trees give the forest a mysterious and cinematic quality, as if the viewer were entering a scene from a fairy tale or an ancient woodland story.

The Arrayanes seem to carry time within their forms. Their smooth, warm-colored bark contrasts beautifully with the shadows of the forest, creating a visual rhythm that is both delicate and powerful. This photograph invites contemplation, revealing the quiet magic of nature in one of Bariloche’s most beautiful natural settings.
