El Tatio Geysers — Breath of the Andes
Photographed in 2010 during two journeys through the Atacama Desert, Chile, El Tatio Geysers reveal one of the most powerful and mysterious natural phenomena of the Andean Altiplano.
Located high in the Andes, more than 4,300 meters above sea level, El Tatio is a geothermal field where the volcanic energy of the Earth rises through the desert surface. At dawn, when the air is extremely cold, steam columns emerge from the ground with greater intensity, transforming the landscape into a surreal scene of mist, stone, water, and light.
In this remote and silent territory, the Atacama reveals a different kind of beauty. Beyond the salt flats, flamingos, vicuñas, lagoons, volcanoes, and mineral horizons, El Tatio exposes the living force hidden beneath the desert. The geysers appear like the breath of the Andes — fragile and powerful at the same time, shaped by pressure, heat, altitude, and time.
Part of the Atacama 2010 — Desert of Light and Silence collection, these photographs celebrate the primal encounter between earth, water, fire, air, and silence.
Printed on museum-quality fine art paper, each work is created for collectors, interiors, hotels, corporate spaces, and architectural projects seeking images of nature, power, atmosphere, and timeless beauty. Each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
